NEW: The KU Society of Professional Journalists has extended the deadline to turn in executive board applications to Dec. 3, at 5 p.m. SPJ is open to everyone (non-J-School students, undergrads and grad students) and primarily focuses on the News and Information track. Journalism Student Ambassador Program: Are you passionate about the J-School? Are you interested in promoting and representing the School? Then please consider serving as a Student Ambassador. Applications are due Dec. 12.

Student Spotlight: Rhonda LeValdo, grad student, was a runner-up in a YouTube competition for aspiring journalists. Her video, “A Fight for the Land,” told the story of efforts to preserve the Haskell Baker Wetlands, an area of historical and cultural significance to Native Americans in Lawrence.
