KU offers many types of on-campus accommodations and highly recommends that all students live in facilities operated by the Department of Student Housing for at least their first year in attendance until becoming familiar with KU and the Lawrence community.
Each of the eight halls all for single students, some women-only, some coed, some "interest-oriented," some traditional and some en-suite rooms has a distinct personality. In all residence halls, meal plans are provided in conveniently located dining commons.
Jayhawker Towers apartment complex houses single non-traditional, upperclass and transfer students. Up to four may share the two-bedroom apartments, which are partly furnished and have small kitchens.
