Outreach
KU's constituents are not only students, faculty, staff and alumni but also the citizens of the state,
the nation and the world. The phrase "Kansas roots, global reach" best captures the university's mindfulness of its obligations.
This commitment to public service stems directly from its expertise in teaching and research. Here is a selection of the many outreach
programs at the university.
The humanities and performing arts, preschooling, lifelong learning, international
affairs and public service.
Wellness care; diagnostic clinics in environmental and psychological health;
high-tech consultations by interactive televideo; and physical fitness.
The university community shares its time and talents through volunteering,
a radio-reading program, public safety and other forms of service.
